The update for Adobe Photoshop 25.2 and Photoshop for iPad 5.3 is available
The Photoshop 25.2 update itself is small, focusing on improving the workflow within the "Layers" panel. It introduces customizable options in its fly-out panel and new right-click options. These changes aim to reduce the time spent searching for commands within the panel.
Photoshop for iPad 5.3 introduces the Generative Fill feature, which enables AI-powered generative editing for backgrounds. This function was introduced in the desktop version earlier this year. It allows users to replace part of an image by inputting a text description of the content they wish to create in its place. The new image is generated in a "non-destructive" manner on a new layer.
Photoshop 25.2 is available for Windows 10 and higher, as well as macOS 11.0 and higher. In the online documentation, it's also referred to as the November 2023 release or Photoshop 2024.1. The software is offered only through subscription, and the cost of the "Photography" subscription, which includes access to Photoshop and Lightroom, starts at $119.88 per year. The subscription for Photoshop as a single app now costs $34.49 per month or $263.88 per year. Earlier this month, Adobe raised prices for many Creative Cloud subscriptions.
