GENERAL

1. These Terms of Use ("Agreement", “Terms”) governs the use of the services ("Service") that are made available by RENDERU.COM (“service”, “website”, "we" or "us"). These Terms of Use represent the whole agreement and understanding between RENDERU.COM and the individual or entity who subscribes to our service ("Subscriber" or "you").
2. The presented Terms of Use are not discussable and are binding.
3. RENDERU.COM may, in its sole discretion, change or modify these Terms at any time, with or without notice. Any changes may be done by Administrative staff of the website.
4. We consider any user of the service familiar with these terms and accepting them. Ignorance of the terms does NOT exempt from liability.
5. Any materials published on RENDERU.COM are not allowed to be used by any other websites and services without permission. Any queries you may send to editor@renderu.com
6. Users’ personal Accounts may be deleted by a personal request sent to support@renderu.com. In the near future, the feature of self-removal will be implemented.
7. All issues and queries about posting articles, news and other information, you may send to Ch. Editor at editor@renderu.com.
8. All disputes may be resolved ONLY by personal dispatch with us via editor@renderu.com.
9. The actions of the forum moderators may be appealed only by the Administration via editor@renderu.com.
10.We are not responsible for the incorrect display of content on search engine sites (in particular, the search engine caching of old pages with outdated information).
11.By signing up on the site the user agrees with the Terms of Use. If the user refuses to comply with the rules of the service, his/her account will be banned.
12.RENDERU.COM is a private resource and we have the right to refuse to publish any materials or comments without giving reasons.
13.Any Administration’s statements are final and not a subject of argumentation.
14.The site administration reserves the right to use for its own purposes (banners’, pages’, magazine’s design) any work posted in galleries/forum on the website. In 99% we use them for our challenges’ ads.



BLOGS

1. Allowed in free posts

1.1.A post related to computer graphics (tutorials, articles, reviews, interviews, translations, news, reports, making ofs, etc.) which does not violate the rights of third parties.
1.2.Posting information about the source with the permission of the author (usually when translating from another language). Be sure to get written confirmation of permission from the author.
1.3.Company blogs allow only one link to the company's product page (assigned to the product name), and one link to their company's website (assigned to the company name).
1.4.Non-commercial links that are not aiming to advertise your websites/commercial pages in social networks/blogs /challenges.
1.5.Links in analytical articles to compare products of different companies.
1.6.Link in WIP (Work in Progress) posts to the site of the project for which the work was done.
1.7.Videos which do not contain ads, including public pages on social networks and do not contain direct appeals to subscribe to anything on another source.
1.8.Create your own projects’ blogs.
1.9.A preview of a post setting forth only a brief description of the content of a post from 30 to 200 characters which clearly gives an idea of what the post is about

2. Allowed in paid posts

2.1.Product and company ad as an information material/press release.
2.2.Promotions’ announcements in “Promotions and Discounts” section.
2.3.Events announcements.
2.4.Challengesannouncements.
2.5.Links to public groups and pages on social networks.
2.6.Links to any other posts.
2.7.Links to any other third-parties websites and sources.
2.8.Company news extending beyond free posting.
2.9.Videos containing ads, including ads of public groups and pages on social networks and calls for subscriptions to channels on video streaming sources.

3. Forbidden to everyone

3.1.Everything which is not allowed.
3.2.SEO links, SEO texts, landing pages.
3.3.Posting someone else’s works or any other materials (including video) without the author’s permission.
3.4.Posting materials with no meaning.
3.5.Direct or indirect information about company’s vacancies (there is a special section for this). On the issue of posting vacancies, contact advert@renderu.comor register a company yourself and activate a job package.
3.6.Posting any ads and articles which do not contain complete information and lead users to read or watch a continuation outside the resource RENDERU.COM.
3.7.Political posts, posts containing any materials that might offend other users.
3.8.Any information and materials prohibited by law.
3.9.Posting many posts at once. Do it gradually, thus the effect will be better and you will not cause a negative among audience. Too many posts may be qualified as spam.
3.9.1. Using blogs as a Gallery. A blog is not a gallery of your works. Although, it is allowed to post an interesting project, for example, WIP of your work, but you mustn’t use it as a gallery. Nevertheless, you can post a selection of your works in one post, accompanying it with an explanatory comment.

4. Recommendations

If you publish images or any other materials made at work or as a part of your freelance work, specify (by email, for evidence to remain) that the employer or customer agrees with posting of materials. As a rule, customers are even happy if their project is mentioned, but it may be done only with their permission.
5. The administration reserves the right to delete any blog if it believes that the information in it does not match the website orientation or violates the rules.


GALLERY

1. All the works submitted get into the personal gallery immediately after being added to the website. The website's Gallery simply broadcasts the contents of user galleries with a rating of 300 points.
2. All the works submitted go to the users’ voting first in order to appear in the website’s Gallery if it gets rating of more than 300 points, but they get into the personal gallery instantly.
3. In some cases, the voting and works’ selection may be done by the Moderators of the RENDERU.COM Galleries. The work may also be removed from the voting, if it has a completely initial level of performance, but nevertheless it goes straight to the personal user’s gallery.
4. It is strongly recommended to publish a wireframe and mesh showcase and a minimum description of the project in the 3D gallery.
5. If there were free downloadable 3D assets used in the work, it is necessary to warn about this in the description. Otherwise, the work will be deleted, and the user posted it will be given a warning.
6. Any the website’s user may comment and discuss any works in the Galleries and rate them. The best works receive an Award. Users with Awards receive a substantial amount of rating points, which increases their personal rating and affects the status on the website and the weight of their vote in the voting (works in the gallery, lessons, and articles).
7. Works done exclusively on Poser, Bryce, Terragen, etc., as well as low-level works, can be removed from social selection by voting, but they are still added immediately to the users’ personal gallery.
8. The works promoting racism, drugs, sex and violence are prohibited to upload on the website.
9. The works that may lead to offensive speculations on religious subjects and that may hurt the feelings of believers are prohibited.
10. The works posted on the website may be deleted upon request of third parties for the following reasons: plagiarism, requirements of the copyright holder (if the author has posted the work without author’s consent), violation of the rules of the Gallery and/or are prohibited by law.
11. The website reserves the right not to comment on their decisions.
12. It is recommended to provide a link to WIP (Work in Progress) in the work’s description to track the creation of works.
13. The website reserves the right to use for its own purposes (banners’, pages’, magazine’s design) any work posted in Galleries on the website. In 99% we use them for our challenges’ ads.
14. When submitting Low-poly models, in addition to the topology showcase, it is necessary to add the textures used (such as Diffuse Map, Normal Map and Specular Map), as well as specify the number of polygons. They may be attached in a small resolution and be protected by a watermark.
15. Credits to everyone who worked with a user on the project submitted (includes any presentation materials such are videos, etc.) must be indicated in the description.
16. Videos without sounds will be removed from the voting in the Gallery.


17. Images’ Upload Requirements

17.1.Images must be in JPG or gif formats.
17.2.On the images submitted must not be any text inscriptions (since most of them often do not have artistic value and are not part of the composition). An exception may be the logo of the artist. The author's name with copyright is formed on the image automatically from the field "author's name in English", filled while signing in.


18. Videos’ Upload Requirements

18.1.Users may only embed from www.youtube.com or vimeo.com. Thus, in order to post any videos on the website, users need to upload them to one of these video-sharing websites.
18.2.In order to add a video to a post, users need to paste a link to the video in the text editor. The website will automatically embed it and create a thumbnail.
18.3.We strongly recommend uploading high-resolution videos (320x240 is highly undesirable).
18.4.To the video uploaded to the Animation Gallery a scene’s wireframe must be attached (a viewport’s print screen).


19. Works’ Upload to the Award Gallery Requirements

19.1.Who receives the Award may decide RENDERU.COM moderators only and the decision may be made based on their personal opinion.
19.2.On the images submitted must not be any text inscriptions (since most of them often do not have artistic value and are not part of the composition). An exception may be the logo of the artist. The author's name with copyright is formed on the image automatically from the field "author's name in English", filled while signing in.
20. The staff of the resource RENDERU.COM considers themselves to be capable of making mistakes, and listens to the opinions of the website users expressed in comments, blogs, etc.
21. The final resolution of controversial issues is reserved by the RENDERU.COM Moderators.


CHALLENGES

1. All necessary information for participation is on the main page of every new Challenge.
2. Subjects of the competition are participants and spectators.


2.1.Participants

2.1.1. Any registered on RENDERU.COM user, regardless of age, nationality or place of residence, who expressed such a desire and agrees with these Rules, is allowed to participate in the Challenge.
2.1.2. Participation in the Challenge begins from the moment of submitting the work to the Challenge’s page.
2.1.3. Each participant may submit an unlimited number of works to the Challenge.
2.1.4. Images sent to the Challenge must be of acceptable resolution and saved as a .JPG, with a reasonable degree of compression.
2.1.5. To participate in the Challenge a user may need to start their WIP project, in which the work on the Challenge will be conducted.
2.1.6. Participants must submit to the Challenge only works, which are not used in other Challenges.
2.1.7. Works convicted of plagiarism or the use of other people's ideas are disqualified, and plagiarists are excluded from participation in the Challenge.


2.2.Spectators

2.2.1. Only registered on the website users who have a personal rating more than 2 points may take part in the voting.
2.2.2. The winners are always chosen by the decision of the jury of the Challenge, the users’ voting determines only who will receive Audience Choice Award.


3. Rules

The Rules of each Challenge are different and are described on the Challenge page.
3.1.Deadlines
After the announcement of the topic, the participants must send the finished work to the website within a certain period of time. Also, any of the participants, regardless of the type of work (2D or 3D), must open their WIP project on the Challenge branch, the links on which are provided on the main page of the Challenge and the Challenge menu. Users’ Voting takes place within 7 days after the end of the works submission. Any Challenge may be extended at the request of its organizer or sponsor.
3.2.Works’ submission
Participants may submit their work any time between the start and the end of the Challenge. They may do that by filling in special form on the Challenge’s page on the website. After that a code identifier is assigned to their work. Before accepting the work for the Challenge it is tested for compliance with the technical level and the theme of the Challenge.
3.3.Other requirements
Each Challenge may have its own unique requirements, as a rule, all of them are indicated on the main page. If you have not found an answer to the question of interest there, write it in the discussion thread of the contest or email to editor@renderu.com.


4. Important

4.1.All participants must open WiPs on the branches for 2D or 3D accordingly and regularly update them — preferably at least once every 1-2 weeks.
4.2.Never try to use the ideas of others' works (including foreign artists). You will definitely be caught, and, apart from a scandalous situation, nothing good will come of it.
4.3.The Challenge’s Jury has the right not to choose the winners for the prizes, if, in the opinion of the majority of the Jury members, there are no works that meet the requirements of the competition for performance techniques and relevance to the topic.
