Boris FX has released Continuum 2024
Continuum has become the second Boris FX product this year to incorporate new AI-driven features, introducing tools for noise reduction and video quality enhancement through machine learning. DeNoise ML, available across various applications, eliminates artifacts in low-light and compressed footage. Currently exclusive to After Effects, UpRes ML scales footage while preserving fine details and allowing the scaling of specific sections of the original clip.
Particle Illusion, the particle effects system in Continuum, has gained new AI-driven capabilities allowing it to generate sprites for use with particle emitters based on text prompts. This feature utilizes the Stable Diffusion AI model from Stability AI. Among other new features in Particle Illusion are the ability to convert particle lines into actual 3D objects and new control options for velocity inheritance. Workflow enhancements include a new Scale Project feature for uniform scaling of particle systems and a UI Scale Factor for more convenient adjustment of interface element sizes.
Among other new features, Continuum 2024 introduces BCC+ Audio Visualizer, a new effect designed to generate patterns of lines, dots, or circles that respond to audio input. Additionally, the BCC+ Super LED effect, added in Continuum 2023.5, has been enhanced with a decay map to control the effect.
Continuum 2024 is compatible with various compositing and editing software such as After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, and Nuke, running on Windows 10 and above or macOS 10.15 and above. The pricing for the product varies depending on the application used: the cost of new licenses ranges from $695 to $1,995. Subscription prices range from $195 per year to $695 per year.
