I want to share my latest project — a high-fidelity 3D recreation of the iconic Mafalda armchair manufactured by Moroso and designed by the legendary Patricia Urquiola.The main challenge was to accurately replicate the unique, wavy, "folded" morphology of the shell backrest, creating a harmonious contrast with the strict geometry of the wooden frame. This asset was built from scratch with a strong focus on clean hard-surface topology, making it ready for high-end architectural visualization and close-up catalog renders.Technical Breakdown:• Geometry: The complex pleated backrest and seat upholstery were modeled with clean subdivision topology (Quad topology).• Woodwork: The solid wood base and angled legs features high-resolution textures with realistic grain alignment and precise edge chamfering.• Shading & PBR: Corona Physical & Legacy PBR workflow. A custom Falloff map was utilized for the turquoise suede/alcantara material to mimic real-world fabric softness.• Tech Stack: 3ds Max 2026 | Corona Renderer 14.Thanks for watching!
