Cinematic 3D Character | Full CG Production Pipeline
This character was created as the main protagonist of my independent Full CG project “New People”, an original science fiction film.
The film’s concept serves as the foundation for the project “New People — Cinematic Frames” (published in my profile). In that project, one of the key moments from the story is presented through a series of cinematic still frames featuring this character.
The character was developed through a full production pipeline: concept and design, modeling, sculpting, retopology, baking, UV layout (UDIM workflow), texturing, manual rigging and skinning, followed by final preparation for use in 3D scenes.
The main goal was to create a technically accurate, cinematic-ready asset built from scratch specifically for this project.
During the development process, I chose not to use pre-made solutions in order to go through the entire CG pipeline on my own and gain professional skills through hands-on experience.
For me, this project marked a transition from Motion Design to a full CG production pipeline. It allowed me to study and dive deeply into every stage of character creation for cinematic production.
A detailed breakdown of the entire character development process is available in my Medium article.
