3D Sports Equipment Assets — HiPoly/LowPoly for Web & Render
For the Line Sport commercial website, I carried out full product digitization — creating accurate 3D prototypes of real sports equipment and preparing them for both high-quality visualization and interactive web-based 3D preview.
My tasks included:
• creating realistic HiPoly models for renders and promotional visuals;
• preparing optimized LowPoly versions for the website’s 3D viewer.
Production Pipeline (short overview):
The project began with an on-site photoshoot, where I collected detailed reference material for every product. Based on this data, I created HiPoly models using a Hard Surface + SubDiv workflow, followed by UV unwrapping (including UDIMs for larger items).
Soft-surface products were refined in ZBrush, adding folds, tension, and subtle surface deformations for greater realism. Texturing was handled in Substance Painter using both general and close-up material references captured at the facility.
For visualization, I built several template scenes using a unified HDRI setup with custom lighting set up for each asset.
After finalizing the HiPoly renders, I created the LowPoly versions: retopology, optimization according to the website’s performance requirements, ColorID maps, and baking all essential details (Normal, Curvature, Position) in Marmoset Toolbag. Textures were transferred from HiPoly to LowPoly, and all models were exported to GLB format via Blender for smooth integration into the site’s 3D viewer.
All models from this project were used in the 3D animations and visualizations created for the Line Sport website. A separate case dedicated to the animations is available on my Behance - https://www.behance.net/gallery/235953541/Line-Sport-3D-Animation
