Braided Girl
This is a personal project — a braided girl character that I created from the very first sketches to a finished 3D model with animation. The idea started as a more simple, stylized girl, but along the way I wanted to experiment with more realistic textures, so the final look sits somewhere between stylized and realistic.
The renders use 8K textures, and there is also a 2K texture set prepared with stock platforms in mind, although I am still deciding how exactly to publish it.
On this project, the main focus was learning how to create game‑ready hair, especially the braid. I realized that this particular style is not really my thing, so instead of making multiple outfits and hairstyles, I decided to concentrate on the technical side.
The most time‑consuming part was studying rigging and basic animation, which I approached as an introduction and a test for future characters.
The character was created using Blender 4.5 and 5, ZBrush for sculpting, and Substance Painter for texturing.
