Hi all! I made this Viking shield with runes. The Vikings often put runic marks on their weapons. They believed that the runes protected them and significantly strengthened their weapons. Weapons consecrated by runes became “Objects of Power”, since runes were, and to this day are, the most effective magical tool, and weapons and power, at all times, acted as the most authoritative and indisputable argument in the sphere of our material life. When creating this project, I worked in the following programs: Blender, Zbrush, Rizom UV, Marmoset Toolbag, Substance Painter and Photoshop. It all started with a search for references, then blocking/drafting was done in Blender and a subdivision was connected for further work, the model was optimized, and in the end I had a High-poly and Low-Poly model ready. The sculpting was done in Zbrush, and the development of UV maps was implemented in Rizom UV. The shield was baked in Marmoset, and texturing was done in Substance Painter. Renders were made in Blender (Cycles), Marmoset Toolbag and Substance Painter. Photoshop was used for retouching and processing of the final renders. Textures: 2K Polycount: 8248 triangles
