Adobe has released Substance 3D Painter 10.0

Substance Painter Soft

The most significant new feature in Substance 3D Painter 10.0 is the Text resource, which provides a new and much simpler workflow for working with text. One of the key changes is that fonts can now be imported directly, rather than creating a .sbsar file with an embedded font, which requires Substance 3D Designer. Fonts can now be previewed in the Assets window and dragged directly onto the surface of a 3D model, where they are applied as a Fill projection.

After that, you can change the position of the text directly in the viewport, as well as adjust properties such as size, color, alignment, and spacing in the projection settings. Fonts can also be used as brushes or as input data for Substance filters.
Designers and visualization specialists now have the ability to import vector graphics in Adobe Illustrator .ai format. The workflow is similar to the existing SVG import, with the added capability of selecting between artboards within the .ai file.

The update also addresses several long-standing issues with normal map painting and transformation. When working with normal maps, repeatedly painting an area in the normal channel no longer creates artifacts, undoing brush strokes also no longer destroys previous strokes, and brushes with alpha channel stamps display correctly when the alpha channel is zero. Transformation manipulators now allow for more stable dragging of decals across surfaces, and the scaling intensity now depends on the object's scale being manipulated rather than the scene size.
Additionally, you can now hold [Ctrl] while dragging a manipulator to enter precision mode, allowing for more accurate content positioning. Among other changes is the new Substance 3D Assets window, which enables browsing the online Substance 3D Assets library directly within Painter. The Python API has received a new layer stack module, which the developers say "opens doors for advanced layer stack plugins," as well as a color management module, work on which is still ongoing.
