The main feature in Substance 3D Sampler 4.3 is the introduction of a new type of asset: Texture Generators. Generators create procedural noise and can be used instead of static images in channel maps or masks, for example, to add dirt to materials. Additionally, two new filters have been added: "Stylization" for giving materials a hand-painted look, and "Perspective Crop" for removing perspective artifacts from scans to create a texture suitable for tile creation. The existing "Embroidery" filter has been updated to support up to eight colors of stitches, and the "Fill" filter now supports blending modes.

Workflow improvements include the ability to generate an Opacity map from the alpha channel of an imported image. Additionally, the pre-made materials included in the software have been updated to "better suit the needs of industrial design, fashion workflows, as well as technical artists working in the media and entertainment industry." It's worth noting that Adobe has discontinued the sale of perpetual licenses for Substance 3D Sampler. Perpetual licenses, previously available for purchase through Steam at a cost of $149.99, were discontinued on January 1st when Adobe announced that they would "shift our Steam offering to two of our flagship applications: Substance 3D Painter and Substance 3D Designer."

Editions for Windows and macOS are accessible through the Adobe Substance 3D Texturing subscription at $19.99 per month or $219.88 per year, as well as through the Substance 3D Collection subscription at $49.99 per month or $549.88 per year.
