The release of Cinema 4D 2024.3

In Cinema 4D 2024.3, a number of improvements have been made to file export and import. GoZ, a technology for exchanging data between Cinema 4D and ZBrush - software for creating digital sculptures by Maxon, now supports dynamic sub-division and MatCap materials.

The ability to export character animation to other DCC applications or game engines in glTF format has been added, with exported glTF files now supporting skin deformation. Additionally, animation can now be exported from Cinema 4D in USD format, although currently only PSR data (position, scale, and rotation) is supported.

The Cinema 4D Asset Browser has been updated to display animated asset previews when hovering over them. Additionally, the Asset Browser now has "comprehensive support for viewing and adding Adobe Substance 3D materials."

This update builds upon other Substance workflow improvements introduced in Cinema 4D 2024.2: the ability to import Substance 3D assets as both standard materials and Redshift materials has been added, and the normal direction is automatically recognized upon import as a Redshift material. The Matrix Object MoGraph and Scene Node have also been updated.

Cinema 4D 2024.3 is available for Windows 10 and above, as well as macOS 11.7.7 and above. The update is only available through rental, with a subscription to a single product costing $94 per month or $719 per year. To subscribe to Cinema 4D only, one must click the "Buy Now" button for the "C4D + Redshift" subscription in the Maxon online store, and then select Cinema 4D as an alternative option.
