First released in 2020, Colourlab Ai is an artificial intelligence-based color correction system. The software can match the grade of a sequence of frames to a reference frame or image with quality described in reviews as equivalent to the first pass of a human colorist. Developed by colorist Dado Valentić, the founder of Colour Training, the technology has found acceptance in the broadcasting, VFX, and gaming markets. Among the users of Colourlab Ai and its related tools, including the Look Designer plugin for creating looks and the film grain generator Grainlab, are Disney, Electronic Arts, HBO, and Netflix.

Colourlab Ai 3 by Color Intelligence is described as a "complete rethink" of the software, featuring a rebuilt AI color engine from scratch. The updated engine "incorporates LLM encoding, decoding, and tokenization systems in a new way" and, based on the description, boasts "10 times the accuracy" compared to the Colourlab Ai 2 engine. As of now, there is no feature list available for version 3. However, the product page lists features such as Balance and Region Match. The former automatically corrects colors in captured material to achieve a neutral, balanced look. The latter automatically adjusts the color tone of selected regions in the source and target material, for example, to modify only the skin tones or sky without affecting the rest of the frame.

Colourlab Ai 3 has undergone several changes from Colourlab Ai 2. The software is now available for both Windows and macOS. Additionally, real-time grading synchronization with DaVinci Resolve is now accessible in the Creator edition, as well as in the more expensive Pro and Studio subscriptions. Currently, Resolve is the only third-party application synchronized with Colourlab Ai 3 Creator, with support for After Effects, Final Cut Pro, and Premiere Pro expected to be added later this month. The Pro version will be updated to version 3 in February 2024, introducing support for RAW cameras, SDI connections, and Tangent control surfaces.

Colourlab Ai 3 Creator is compatible with Windows 10 and macOS 13.0 and above. New perpetual licenses cost $299. The rental pricing is now $15 per month or $150 annually.
