GeoGen is a real-time tool designed for creating heightmaps and 3D terrain. It was developed as an interim project between the releases of real-time modeling tools EmberGen and LiquiGen, initially known as SceneryGen. JangaFX describes it as the successor to Grand Designer, a "procedural universe generator," created by Gil Damuazo, who now works as a research engineer at the company. The interface and workflow resemble EmberGen, allowing users to generate landscapes using a combination of node graphs, switches, and curves.
JangaFX envisions GeoGen as a tool built "like Substance [3D] Designer but for terrain and planets." According to the company's website, GeoGen is designed with real-time applications in mind, such as games, offering a "fresh take on what terrain and planet generation can be... with modern node-based workflows, unique simulators, and workflow enhancements."
As of now, JangaFX has not announced the pricing, system requirements, or the final release date for GeoGen. Currently, they are running an alpha version access giveaway. The JangaFX Suite, which includes EmberGen and the vector file generator VectorayGen, costs $399.99 for a perpetual node-locked license.
