The creation of this work was inspired by the events of WWII first period when advancing German troops encountered KV-1 tanks on the battlefield. 37mm armor-piercing shells left a dent in the armor of the KV-1, 50mm shells were also not able to overcome the armor of the tank, on tests Germans still managed to break her from a distance of 30m. Only 88mm anti-aircraft gun shells were able to fight with armor KV-1, as well as piercing 50mm shells that were just beginning to appear in the German army. According to testimonies of Soviet troopers, some machines could consist of more than 130 hits, while the tanks were in combat readiness.
