Modular Cinema 60's
Concept:
A vintage 1960s-era cinema that retains the glamour of Hollywood’s Golden Age, nestled in the heart of Chinatown. The architecture blends classic Art Deco elements (neon signage, ornate plasterwork, a grand entrance) with subtle Eastern touches (lanterns, Chinese calligraphy on storefronts, authentic small shops).
Execution:
In 3DsMax, I built modular pieces for the entrance area and the main marquee using trim and tileable textures, while movie posters were assembled into an atlas. The film titles and posters aren’t random—they’re actual hits from 1960s America. For Unreal Engine 5, I created basic shaders for metal, tile surfaces, and emissive materials for lamps/signage, plus a world position-based gradient to enhance depth.
