Author’s comment:
Format: a test task, completed in the style of commercial visualization.
The task was to create a realistic 3D visualization of upholstered furniture in a residential interior, focusing on material, shape, and lighting. The focus was on modeling the upholstered elements of the sofa seat and backrest—their volumes, seams, and shape transitions—as well as selecting a fabric texture that reflects the natural behavior of the material under light.
Key Stages:
Furniture Geometry: elaborating the shape and details of the upholstered sections, realistic seams, and rounded edges.
Materials: creating a fabric surface with a realistic response to lighting; working with environmental elements (a shelving unit with metal supports and decor).
Lighting and Composition: The interior was designed with soft, diffused lighting to emphasize the coziness and material of the surface; an angle was chosen that favorably highlights the shape of the sofa within the context of the interior.
Result:
The project demonstrates skills in furniture modeling, working with materials and lighting, and the ability to compositionally integrate an object into an interior environment. Despite the test format, the task was completed within the requirements of a commercial project.
