As a child, I loved rummaging through piles of old stuff in the storage room or attic of my family's country house. These forgotten items, covered in various stains, scratches, and rust, fascinated me as they embodied the passage of time. I found it strange that these objects, which had been created with so much care and effort, were now nothing more than junk. It's a paradox that while I don't like hoarding things in my daily life, I'm drawn to the aesthetic of these forgotten treasures. In this project, I decided to breathe new life into one such forgotten item - an old tape recorder. I wondered what it was used for, imagining scenarios like someone recording their thoughts or music, or perhaps the police interrogating a suspect. These ideas of course were inspired by movies and popular culture, but they gave me a glimpse into the stories that this object could tell. To bring this idea, I used a combination of Blender, Marmoset Toolbag, Substance Painter, and Adobe Photoshop. I also created a piece of melancholic music and a short video reminiscent of David Lynch using Ableton Live, Blender and post-processed it in DaVinci Resolve.
