A stone house in a forest near Antwerp by DDM Architectuur was used as the architectural reference. We aimed to convey the atmosphere of unity with the nature. Despite its modern look, the house does not contradict the backcountry surrounding; on the contrary, the landscape and the house are incorporated in the common design, the building looking like rocks rising over a forest. A pond at the side of the house reflects the facades, the sky and green leaves. The entrance to an underground parking efficiently blends in the scenery. A lake on the opposite side is perfect to have a swim on a sunny afternoon, go fishing or lit a campfire and meditate looking at the night starry sky. It is a house for those who would like to be close to the nature but are still fond of the comfort that accompanies the urban lifestyle.
