In the stable release of After Effects 24.3, the per-character styling feature, previously introduced in the program's beta versions last year, has been implemented. Now users can modify font, size, color, and style of text layers based on each character using scripts, utilizing the new CharacterRange and ParagraphRange objects in the DOM TextDocument.

Other changes include a new attribute paragraphCount, which returns the number of paragraphs in the text document. Apart from text styling, there are no other new features in the release, but there are several bug fixes.

After Effects 24.3 is available for Windows 10 and above, and macOS 12.0 and above, only through subscription. The subscription cost for After Effects as a single application is $34.49 per month or $263.88 per year. In the online documentation, the update is also referred to as the March 2024 release or After Effects 2024.3.
