BiteTheBytes introduced World Creator 2023.4

Soft

In the World Creator 2023.4 update, a new simulation layer system has been introduced to distribute sedimentary and associated materials across terrains - initially sand and fluids, with potential future additions like snow, mud, and glaciers. The distribution of sedimentary rocks can be controlled by referencing simulation layers in Filter and Material Distributions or by directly painting them onto the terrain. BiteTheBytes describes the workflow as "like dumping a huge bucket of sedimentary rocks on your landscape and having the simulation perform some really cool actions with them."

Among other changes in World Creator 2023.4, there's Steepness Distribution support for rain and soil maps to control erosion, as well as support for infinite width in Path Layers. Additionally, a new set of ready-made presets for gradients has been introduced.

Starting with the 2023 release, BiteTheBytes has revised its pricing for World Creator for indie artists. Previously, perpetual licenses were priced at $349 for individual artists or $689 for companies earning less than 1 million dollars annually. Now, BiteTheBytes has shifted to pricing based on the number of employees.
Professional licenses for freelancers and companies with five or fewer employees now cost $289, while the license cost for larger companies (Company) remains unchanged at $2489.

World Creator 2023.4 is available exclusively for the Windows operating system, version 7 and above. The cost of perpetual professional licenses is $289, while licenses for companies with more than five employees remain at $2489. Companies also have the option to rent the software for $1289 annually.
