Author’s comment:
The world of Chimeria is a giant Tree that stretches into the skies. Within the interweaving of its crowns, countless beings live and thrive, including humans. The Tree grows on an endless expanse of Earth, with its Roots extending to unknown depths. Beyond this relatively calm world lies pure chaos, where life, as we know it, is impossible. If someone ventures too far from the Tree, they usually do not return.
Everything living and non-living in this world originated from the Tree and is somehow connected to it. One of the main features of this world is the so-called Chimeria – the process of mixing elements of the elements and living beings, places and objects. Chimeria usually arises at the birth of a new being; it typically inherits traits from its parents, but sometimes random Chimeras occur due to magic use or other reasons. For example, in the distant past, various "races" emerged – half-human, half-elemental beings.
Dungrom belongs to the people known as "Crystallines" – mineral-like humans. Their appearance bears features of stones, both precious and ordinary. The rarer and more noble the stone you embody as a Chimera, the more esteemed you are among other Crystallines. They are covered with stone-like skin, slow-moving, yet physically resilient and strong. They can grow to large sizes and live almost forever, but such individuals are rare, as they become fragile and crumbly in old age. They are accustomed to relying on themselves, hold more progressive views on the world and technology, and magic is less widespread among them. They usually reside closer to the Foot of the Tree, where their small villages and settlements are located.
