The goal was to hone skills and introduce fresh developments on one frame. I took the building of the Chrystie Street Hotel as a basis (https://www.archdaily.com/921249/chrystie-street-hotel-herzog-and-de-meuron?ad_source=search&ad_medium=projects_tab ), took a daytime shot, and then I got carried away.
The first idea was a noir shot. Images from the films "Batman" and "Sin City" were spinning in my head. Classic noir is black and white film and high contrast. When desaturating the renders, I deliberately left the red channel saturated to emphasize the theme of anxiety and danger with this small detail.
Cyberpunk inspired by Blade Runner 2049, Tron and Ready Player One was next: a global multicultural world, colossal inequality, a neighborhood of luxury, poverty, high technology and street crime.
In conclusion, I again turned to the images of New York: I tried to achieve a humid foggy atmosphere, as well as to emphasize the work of reflections of car headlights in wet asphalt.
