HMS Cumberland 1774

preview HMS Cumberland 1774
HMS Cumberland - 74-gun third rate ship of the line of the Royal Navy, launched on 29 March 1774 at Deptford Dockyard. She participated in actions against the French Navy both prior to and during the Napoleonic Wars. She was broken up in 1804. My first full-fledged model, which helped me to start learning 3D modeling. During the creation I learned a lot of new things for myself. Also in the process of creation I realized that I really like this activity and I'm going to improve my skills further and further. At first I had strong doubts that I would like the end result and that I would be able to realize what I have in mind. But the result turned out even better. Many thanks to Andrew Mckay for the invaluable advice, without you I would have spent much more time on the difficulties encountered. Thanks also to Nello Fontani for the sails he let me borrow from his model. I could have made them myself, but the ship model has already taken up too much of my time and it's time to start something new. The model consists of approximately 1 million polygons. I made the textures with Substance Painter (my first experience with this program). The wooden figures on the bow and stern have baked details but they are on a separate UV space, since I made them at a time when I didn't know much about UV. It's easy to pack the whole model into one UV space without losing quality. Ready for your critique and suggestions to improve this project)
