Large, two-speed, chain drill. Probably made in the first half of the last century. The total length is 47cm. The manufacturer is unknown. The "X", cast as a reinforcement of the chest support of the frame, resembles the products of the American tool manufacturer Goodell-Pratt. In the decoration, red and black colors are classically used. Unpainted metal surfaces are chrome-plated. Hardwood handles are varnished. The chuck used with three springs is adjustable from 0 to 1/2 inch, which allows the use of drills up to 12 mm. Also very unique is the power transmission solution used. The bicycle chain allows the use of smaller gears, from which the entire tool also becomes more compact. The drilling speed of the drill is also significant. A faster transmission gives 1/8 for transmission and a lower 1/2.5 for the usual 1/3 and 1/1. The only indication on the instrument is the “climax” entry on the chain.
