Here’s my small and humble contribution to the #NatureAndCivChallenge which I did over this weekend:) I had the idea of the wrecked rocket engine aging and slowly falling to pieces somewhere deep in the woods, quite for some time already. I also wanted it to have some iconic wording or graffity on it too, so that it kind of has some story behind, but to be honest never actually had the courage to start modeling it till I discovered this challenge. I was always procrastinating about starting the actual modeling cos the more references for the F-1 rocket engine I found - the more frightening and messy it seemed to model and (most importantly) unwrap it. So I thought now it’s the right time to go for it having some fun in Substance Painter! The wording on the engine’s body say: “Добро” - “Kindness” “Юра, мы приехали” - “We have arrived, Yura..” This refers to Yuriy Gagarin pronouncing his iconic “Poekhali!” (Let’s ride!) right before his takeoff.
