The angel of the second sphere - Powers. Angelic rank, taming demonic power, helping to repel the temptations of the devil. They are sent by God to strengthen the ascetics in their service to God. They are also charged with helping every human soul in the fight against evil. The Powers is depicted in ceremonial armor and a golden crown, which indicates the high status of the angelic Hierarchy, and two pairs of wings indicate belonging to the Second Sphere. (to my mind the angel's belonging to the sphere depends on the number of pairs of wings, for example: Angels of the 1st Sphere have three pairs of wings) The Virtutes are so powerful that they don't carry weapons
