medieval smithy
Medieval Smithy.
Hello dear colleagues! Somehow I came across a concept of a wonderful artist (G xy). I had a strong desire to bring his concept to 3D. First I wanted to model a forge, texture and render against a dark background in Marmoset. But over time, I decided to render in Unreal Engine. I thought to show one frontal view, but then I realized that it was too simple, I wanted to show the building from all sides. Then the idea was born to make a full-fledged environment. The terrain is taken from the real one. This is the city of Tekeli, Kazakhstan, my homeland. From one resource I took a height map of a real area, scaled it a little and created an environment based on this map. In the process, I gained incredible knowledge, most of the assets I modeled and textured myself, some materials were created in Substance Designer, there are also assets and decals from Quixel Megascans. Plants I used from free and paid collections from the Epic Games Marketplace.
