In 1965, as an archaeologist, I was invited to participate in one international archaeological expedition on the Yucatan Peninsula. According to some reports, in one of the lost temple complexes of the Mayan people hidden in the jungle there are some mysterious materials not previously covered in scientific publications. Upon arrival in Mexico, we hired two guides and went into the jungle. After some time, we went to the temple complex and climbed to the top of one of the well-preserved pyramids. In the temple, we found various bas-reliefs adorning the walls, but we were attracted by a small well in the center of the building. After some hesitation, it was decided to go down to this very well. Inside, we found a karst cave, the so-called Cenote, with an underground lake widespread on the peninsula. In the center of the cave was a stone altar studded with human skeletons. Apparently these were the remains of human sacrifices during a drought when the water level in the lake fell dramatically. Within the walls of the cave were several grooves-grottoes in one of which we found a cut-through tunnel through which we moved forward. At first the tunnel went up, but after some time it became horizontal. Apparently, during the rise of the water level in the lake, the entrance to the tunnel was flooded and therefore was inaccessible for a long time for research. The walls of the tunnel were covered with colored murals on which the Mayans brought offerings to some mysterious creatures to half-humans, half-beasts. In the end, we went into a small crypt in the middle of which stood a stone carved sarcophagus and here inexpressible surprise awaited us, since the skull made of a single piece of quartz rested on the sarcophagus with skillful work. Near the far wall in front of the sarcophagus were two painted sculptures of the guardians of the half-skeleton half-humans. Between them on the pedestal was the most amazing find - a pure gold figure of an alien creature very reminiscent of Japanese clay statuettes of Dogu whose age is more than 10 thousand years. These figures are still a scientific mystery. On the bas-reliefs, it was possible to find out that this figure depicted a certain God from the stars, guarded by dead brothers. From the inscriptions it turned out that the many thousands of victims of the Indians were not dedicated to the opening of new temples and gods of the Indian pantheon, but to him. Who were in the stone sarcophagus, we were afraid to even imagine. One thing could be said with certainty that it was certainly not one of the rulers of the Mayan people. Like the previous researchers before us, we did not dare to take anything in the tomb and left everything as it is because humanity is not yet ready for such discoveries.
