English Rhyme.
Robin the Bobbin, with belly so wide,
Had eighty men’s dinners tucked safely inside;
He bolted a heifer, a yearling he chewed,
And found that a butcher was excellent food;
He swallowed a chapel, a tower as well,
The monk and the choir—as far as I tell!
A heifer, a steer,
And half an ox near,
A church and its spire,
The folk and the friar,
But still he declared with a grumble and groan:
"I’m starving and empty, just skin and just bone!"
