Substance 3D Painter 9.1 by Adobe
The new features in Substance 3D Painter 9.1 include the ability to import vector graphics in SVG format and three new material filters oriented toward SVG: Custom Sticker, Custom Spray, and Graphic to Material. The update also improves the handling of semi-transparent materials by adding support for Opacity, Translucency, and Absorption Color in the Adobe Standard Material (ASM) shader.
Several workflow improvements have been made as well, particularly in the area of dragging and dropping assets. Users can now drag and drop external assets directly into the layer stack, drag and drop textures from the asset panel into the layer stack, and drag filters and generators onto the 3D mesh. Users can also use [Ctrl] and [Alt] to control the creation of new effects and layers. The "Path" tool, introduced in Substance 3D Painter 9.0, has been enhanced for ease of use with new transformation manipulators for path points, including tangent control.
Additionally, you can now copy and paste contour properties and toggle contour visibility individually.Among other changes, there is a new "Send to After Effects" option, allowing you to export textured 3D meshes directly from Substance 3D Painter to Adobe's compositing software.
Moreover, temporary anti-aliasing and subsurface scattering are enabled by default, though GPU ray tracing is turned off by default when baking textures on AMD GPUs. Substance 3D Painter 9.1 is available for Windows 10, CentOS 7.0/Ubuntu 20.04 and above on Linux, and macOS 11.0 and above. Perpetual licenses are available through Steam for $149.99. The software is also available through Adobe's Substance 3D subscription.
The cost of a Substance 3D Texturing subscription is $19.99 per month or $219.88 per year, while a Substance 3D Collection subscription is $49.99 per month or $549.88 per year.
