Unreal Engine 4.22 Preview 1 is released

Epic Games announced that Unreal Engine 4.22 will soon be released with a number of bug fixes and updates, and have just released the first preview, available for download from the Epic Games launcher.

Preview 1 includes support for real-time ray tracing, Editor Utility Widgets, support for Movable Spotlight on mobile platforms, virtual production updates, support for Oculus Quest, and index optimization for Blueprint.

A full list of upcoming changes to the new version is available on the Unreal Engine forum. The Epic Games team encourages users to leave feedback on Preview 1 and all subsequent releases, and remember that the preview versions are intended only to familiarize themselves with future opportunities and are not production-ready. Therefore, it is recommended not to update any current projects to the new version at this time.

To get started with Unreal Engine 4.22 Preview 1, go to the Unreal Engine section in the launcher, select the Library at the top, then click the (+) sign next to the Engine version and select 4.22 Preview 1.
