The project of reconstruction of the embankment in Nizhny Novgorod. Gork Studio took part in the concept development of embankment’s improvement which is situated between the Subway and Molitovsky bridges. The total length of the embankment is more than 2 km. Besides visualization, we were responsible for designing the pre-project concept. The complexity of the task was in the necessity to reflect the topography of the uptown part of the city accurately, and to recreate historical buildings and modern infrastructure, such as: the milling factory , pump- house, embankment, Romodanovsky railway station, bridges, landing stage, etc. Another challenge lay in integrating residential buildings, multi-functional objects, the theater, walking and park areas into large but extremely sprawling environment. The investment project has been approved by the government and is actively entering the next stage now. It’s likely that dramatic changes await our concept before its implementation. However, we are sincerely glad that city improvement issues of such scale have been raised in our hometown.
