This is a model of the first-ever tank produced in the USSR in 1920, which was similar to the French FT-17. The "Red Sormovo" factory received an order in 1919 to produce Soviet-made tanks based on captured French machines. According to factory documents, this tank was named "Russian Renault", "Renault Russian", or sometimes "Fiat tank", depending on the type of engine used. The main differences from its French counterpart were the enlarged motor bay, mixed armament, and inferior production quality I had been working on this model for a while, but had to put it aside due to lack of time. Finally, I was able to give it the attention it deserved and complete it. I would like to express my gratitude to The Weld Foundation for providing the process photos of the restoration of a similar tank that I found on their Facebook page. Their photos were incredibly helpful in guiding me through the completion of my own model.
