Hair Cinematic Tool 2.0 — a new tool for realistic hair rendering in Unreal Engine 5
Argentum Studio has released an updated version of Hair Cinematic Tool — a tool for fine-tuning hair rendering in Unreal Engine 5. The tool allows users to control grooming rendering parameters, including voxel-based shadows and deep shadows, through an intuitive graphical interface. It interacts with the engine’s internal variables (CVars), providing full control over lighting and shadows for hair and fur. This way, the tool offers greater artistic control over image quality, enabling cinematic hair appearance even under time constraints.
Originally, Hair Cinematic Tool was available for free. In version 2.0, the tool became commercial and gained support for Unreal Engine 5.5. However, during the first month after release, it can be downloaded for free by liking and commenting on the post on ArtStation Marketplace. After that, the software will be sold at the standard price of $35.
Hair Cinematic Tool 2.0 is compatible with Unreal Engine 5.5. Details about controllable parameters and recommended settings can be found in the studio's blog on ArtStation.
