Maxon has released Cinema 4D 2025.2
The main new feature in this release (nearly a third of the presentation video is dedicated to it) is the direct integration of Rocket Lasso spline modifiers into Cinema 4D. Seven modifiers, previously available as Capsules for Cinema 4D subscribers, are now built directly into the deformers palette. They can be used for procedural modeling and animation, but are particularly useful for motion graphics and interface design: the video also showcases ready-made generators for woven structures and “constellations” — 3D networks of lines connecting points or particles.
Cinema 4D 2025.2 continues to expand the particle system first introduced in version 2024.4. Key new features include interactive emitter controls — you can now directly adjust their size, particle speed, and emission direction within the viewport. Particle emission density can now be controlled using fields, procedural noise, and vertex maps. New parameters have been added to the Flock and Predator-Prey modifiers, and caching now supports cubic interpolation, providing smoother results compared to linear interpolation. All available settings for the Basic Emitter, Mesh Emitter, and Spline Emitter are described in detail in the online documentation.
Cinema 4D 2025.2 introduces a new "Align to Plane" mode for the Look At Camera tool, which allows text alignment to remain consistent with the view as the camera moves. It is also now possible to synchronize the frame rate in the render settings with the project's frame rate.
However, the main feature showcased in the presentation video has not yet been included in Cinema 4D 2025.2 — a new fluid simulation system that Maxon is preparing for release. The company is announcing a powerful tool for realistic fluid simulations — from water to viscous substances such as lava or melted chocolate. The demo scenes showcase medium-scale simulations, which artists currently typically achieve using third-party solutions like X-Particles or RealFlow. An exact release date has not been provided — the system might appear in version 2025.3, but Maxon has not confirmed this yet.
Cinema 4D 2025.2 is compatible with Windows 10 and macOS 13.6 or newer. The software is available by subscription only, with pricing set at $109 per month or $839 per year.
