ZBrush 2025.1 and ZBrush 2025.2 for iPad have been released by Maxon

ZBrush 2025.1 introduces the new Quick Polygroup brush, designed to streamline the process of creating polygroups. By simply clicking on the surface of a model, users can create a polygroup for the surrounding area, with ZBrush automatically defining the polygroup based on beveled edges. This tool helps enhance workflow efficiency, making it easier to organize geometry during sculpting.

ZBrush 2025.1 focuses primarily on workflow improvements and bug fixes, along with updates to existing tools. The *Anchors* brush, first introduced in ZBrush 2023.2 for quick character positioning, now includes a new bending mode alongside the existing move, rotate, and twist modes. This update allows users to modify the position of parts of a model using two anchor points, providing a more natural bend. Additionally, bugs in the *Chisel Brush* and *Lightbox* have been addressed. The *GoZ* bridges for 3ds Max and Maya now support the latest versions (3ds Max 2025 and Maya 2025).
The integration of *Redshift*, Maxon's rendering tool, has also been expanded in ZBrush. It now supports AOV (Arbitrary Output Variables) transitions and *Open Image Denoise* (OIDN), improving rendering performance and providing faster interaction. Lighting, HDRIs, and material changes now update in real-time in the viewport. Initially integrated in ZBrush 2023, *Redshift* includes CPU rendering by default, with GPU rendering available via a separate subscription.
Alongside the main software update, ZBrush 2025.2, the tablet version, was also released. This update adds *GoZ* support for *Cinema 4D*, simplifying the transfer of sculptures between ZBrush and the 3D animation software. Additionally, the software now includes ZSpheres templates for female, male, and hand mannequins.
