Nekki has released Cascadeur Mobile

Introduced in 2019, Cascadeur is described as an artist-friendly alternative to traditional animation software used in game development, graphic creation, or visual effects. While it features standard tools for rigging, posing, and character animation, its unique feature is the AI-powered toolkit, which is partially automated. The AutoPosing system allows users to quickly set key poses for a character by positioning a small number of joints, while Cascadeur takes care of the rest of the body. The software can then calculate a physically accurate trajectory between poses.

Cascadeur Mobile adapts the listed workflows for use on mobile devices. Users can pose characters to match reference images or videos using gesture controls and a simplified version of Cascadeur’s standard interface. Characters can be animated with key features from the desktop app, including timeline, IK/FK interpolation, Ghosting, Trajectories, and In-Betweening Machine. The rough animation can then be transformed into a physically accurate version using the built-in AutoPhysics system, with a separate controller for adding secondary motion. The app also includes an Augmented Reality (AR Mode), allowing users to animate characters in augmented reality, as shown in this video.

Cascadeur Mobile is compatible with iOS 13.0 and above, and iPadOS 13.0 and above. According to Nekki, for 'optimal experience,' you will need an iPhone 11 or better. The basic app is free, but a paid subscription is required for full access to all features, which costs $7.99 per month or $49.99 per year. The full toolset is also available for free to users with a Pro subscription for the desktop version of the software, which costs $49 per month or $588 per year.
