The main new feature in Redshift 3.6.04 is the Distance shader. Like its counterpart in Arnold, it measures the distance of points on a surface to another object. This allows for the application of an animated color gradient on the surface to create a range of motion graphics effects, as seen in the video above.
Performance improvements have been made to Redshift RT, the interactive rendering engine, enhancing "first-frame quality and responsiveness." Additionally, noise reduction in RT has been improved, including when the camera is in motion. Support for Substance materials in the Cinema 4D plugin has also been enhanced, with new settings for Scale, Offset, and Rotation for UVs in the Substance node.
