The main new feature in Mocha Pro 2024 is a rewritten version of the Camera Solve module, which integrates the core solver from SynthEyes, a company acquired by Boris FX last year. This change aims to combine the reliable camera solutions of SynthEyes with the flexibility of Mocha Pro's planar tracking tools. One example of usage highlighted by Boris FX is using roto-splines to exclude parts of the frame that may disrupt the track, such as occlusions.

Another key feature of the rewritten Camera Solve module is USD support. Users can now import 3D models from USD assets to visualize draft results overlaid on the scene, or export USD data to software supporting the Universal Scene Description format by Pixar, including 3ds Max, Blender, Cinema 4D, Houdini, Maya, and Nuke. Additionally, PowerMeshes from Mocha can be converted into projected static 3D meshes in the scene. The solver includes its own 3D viewer for reviewing results directly in Mocha without exporting, along with custom navigation controls.

You can also export 3D solve results to SynthEyes for more detailed matching; export 3D data in FBX format, export null values to After Effects. Updates to existing tracking and rotoscoping tools include new Linear and Constant keyframe options for step tracking, with the ability to skip or step through frames. The new Extrapolate Track feature continues tracking when the track goes off-screen or behind another object by extrapolating previous frames.

Performance has also been improved: rendering is now "up to 15 times faster," and Python scripts now run "up to 6 times faster" in the script editor.

Mocha Pro 2024 is available as a standalone application as well as Adobe, Avid, and OFX plugins. The standalone application is compatible with Windows 10+, RHEL/CentOS 7-9 Linux, and macOS 10.15 and above.

Plugins are compatible with After Effects and Premiere Pro CC 2014 and above, HitFilm Pro 2017 and above, Media Composer 8 and above, Nuke 8 and above, Flame 2020 and above, Fusion Studio 8 and above, Silhouette 2020 and above, and Vegas Pro 14-19. A new license costs $695 for Adobe, Avid, or OFX plugins, $995 for all plugins, or $1495 for the standalone edition plus all plugins.
