"InkTool" is an intriguing plugin for Blender

InkTool offers several ways to recreate the appearance of paint strokes in 3D. The simplest method is to use the Inkbrush feature to draw strokes by hand, with InkTool automatically generating a realistically looking brush stroke along the received 3D curve. The plugin generates drips at the beginning of the stroke, as if the paint is flowing under the force of gravity, and as the stroke progresses, it thins out and fades away, as if the brush is running out of paint. The process is non-destructive, and users can edit the shape of strokes after their creation.

You can also create images using a non-photorealistic rendering process: the InkTool Inkedge system creates contours around the 3D model resembling brush strokes. To fill these contours, the InkTool Inktexture system converts existing model textures into ink textures, and users can control the results using vertex painting tools.

The plugin also comes with ready-made presets and generators that simulate elements of traditional Chinese painting, including bamboo, other plants, and rocks. To give the image a finished look, InkTool includes a built-in rice paper texture for the background and a Distress setting that gives the final render a subtly weathered, faded appearance.

InkTool 1.0 is compatible with Blender 3.6.4 and above. It supports both Eevee and Cycles renders, but Eevee is recommended. The cost is $15.
