In the recent update of KeyShot 2023.3 by Luxion, the color workflow process has been revised. Now, individual colors are made instances in KeyShot. When an instance is updated, all materials of that color in the project are automatically updated. Color instances can be combined into a "multi-color," similar to multi-materials.
Other changes include a new Color Mode that hides much of the user interface, allowing users to focus on color libraries and multi-color, as well as the support for the Natural Color System (NCS), which is based on perception.
In addition to color-related updates, KeyShot 2023.3 introduces a new Performance Mode for GPU rendering, which, in some instances, accelerates GPU rendering "by more than 2 times." There's also a new Light Solo Mode that retains lighting while working solo on a part of the model and a new ACES image transform for achieving a cinematic look in renders.
KeyShot 2023.3 is available for Windows 10 and higher as well as macOS 11.7 and higher. Integration plugins are accessible for various DCC (Digital Content Creation) and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) tools, including 3ds Max, Blender, Cinema 4D, and Maya. Presently, the software is available solely through a subscription model. The subscription cost for KeyShot Pro is $1188 per year. KeyShot Web and network rendering are available through separate subscriptions.
