Dash is an automated tool for generating complete scenes in Unreal Engine 5 (UE5)
Released last year, Polygonflow's GraphN was a visual node-based programming environment designed for creating custom tools for Unreal Engine and Maya. Subscribers gained access to the GraphN Library, a toolkit developed using GraphN.
Dash, a rebrand of the library, is now specifically tailored for Unreal Engine 5, although it still includes some tools for Maya. Polygonflow is promoting it exclusively for use with Unreal Engine.
Development of the node editor was "suspended," and the editor itself has been completely removed from Dash. Dash, referred to as "your second pilot for creating environments in Unreal Engine," aims to simplify the process of populating complex scenes in Unreal Engine. It's designed to allow artists to create scenes without the need to navigate the Unreal Editor interface, primarily working in a full-screen viewport mode.
Dash provides pre-built behavior models accessible through natural language search queries in a floating tooltip panel for common scene-building tasks like "creating terrain" and "using water." A secondary floating panel offers access to key parameters for result customization. Additionally, Dash provides quick access to pre-made assets—currently loaded from the Megascans library, which is free to use with Unreal Engine—for scene enrichment.
The package includes tools for instancing and distributing objects such as grass and rocks, with the ability to use surface masks through curves, meshes, or even other objects. Dash is compatible with Unreal Engine 5 and above.
It's available only through subscription, with a pricing of $20 per month or $190 per year for freelancers, artists, and studios with an annual income below $250,000. Corporate subscription costs $180 per month or $1700 per year.
