The release of Pulldownit 5.5 for 3ds Max and Maya has taken place

In the Pulldownit 5.5 release for 3ds Max and Maya, the Pulldown Shatter it tool has been updated. This tool pre-fractures the scene geometry before applying dynamics, and now users can modify the position or delete fracture centers directly in the viewport with a simple click. Additionally, the tool is now multi-threaded, boasting remarkable speed improvements with destructions happening "up to 8 times faster" than Pulldownit 5.0 in the Maya version and "up to 4 times faster" in the 3ds Max version.

Thinkinetic has also updated the behavior of Bounded, introduced in Pulldownit 5.0, which controls the distance at which detached fragments of the destroyed object can be removed from the crack they originated from. Users can now enable dynamics for fragments at a specific frame, allowing cracks to propagate throughout the object's surface simultaneously.

Workflow improvements include the ability to create or modify parameters for multiple cracks at once, as well as an update to the dynamic solver to achieve better results with default settings. Furthermore, the Pulldownit build for Maya now supports Cached Playback in Maya after baking keyframes, which should enhance viewport playback performance.

Pulldownit 5.5 is available for 3ds Max 2019 and above, as well as Maya 2018 and above. The software is offered only on a rental basis. The cost of node-locked licenses is 280 euros per year, while floating licenses are priced at 350 euros per year.
